Working Pattern:   2 days a week (15 hours), currently every Saturday and either a Sunday or Monday on rotation with the Retail Operations Manager. 

Hours:  9.15 am to 5.15pm with 30 minutes lunch break.

Salary:  £23,265-£25,051 pro-rata


We are looking for a passionate, caring and creative individual who has management experience and an interest in charity retail to manage our unique charity shop in Hornsey, N8 for two days per week. The post will suit someone who enjoys a challenge and is able lead and inspire volunteers, including young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

As a shop manager you will generate income and maximise sales of donated and bought in stock. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the shop which includes sourcing, sorting, pricing and merchandising stock, along with monitoring sales. On your shifts you will manage a team of volunteers including young people who have learning disabilities/ or difficulties on work experience placements.

This is an exciting opportunity to build good relationships with the local community and to help to equip our students with the skills to work within the retail industry.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven management and organisational skills.
  • Experience or an interest in the charity retail sector and/or fashion retailing
  • Experience of/or willingness to work to sales and profit targets.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Maintain effective stock management and merchandising
  • Ability to train, develop and motivate volunteers and students

This post involves working with young people under 18 and vulnerable adults; appointment will be subject to an enhanced Disclosures and Barring Service check.
