Location: Highgate, North London

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours)

Salary: £26,839-£29,822 per annum

Position available from April 2020

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Gardening Team Supervisor to act as project lead and supervisor for Harington Gardeners Community Open Spaces Team. In this new role you will lead the team to deliver horticultural, landscaping and maintenance projects mainly in community open space and venues (such as schools, community centres, public parks etc). You will closely liaise with community partners to plan and co-ordinate this work.  

The Harington Scheme is a charity based in Highgate, North London. It has an excellent reputation and track record in delivering high quality skills training and work experience opportunities to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. It was rated ‘Good’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection.   

The successful candidate will have:

  • relevant vocational qualifications and/or proven experience of horticultural work
  • a sound plant knowledge and knowledge of horticultural procedures and processes
  • a full clean drivers’ licence and experience of driving vans/ work vehicles
  • the ability to supervise and train inexperienced team members.

Experience of working with people with special educational needs and/or disabilities is desirable.

This post involves working closely with young people and vulnerable adults therefore appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Barred List checks.
