Salary:  £24,455-£26,839 per annum (Grade A: Unqualified/part-qualified)

             £26,839-£29,822 per annum (Grade B: Qualified) 

Position available from February 2020

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Trainer in Skills for Work and Living, with horticultural experience, to teach and assess learners on a range of accredited and non-accredited courses ranging from Entry Level to Level 1 covering horticulture, employability and independent living. The successful candidate will work as a part of our team to plan and deliver high quality training programmes for learners with special educational needs and disabilities, preparing them for successful progression into employment, further education or independent living.

The Harington Scheme is a small charity based in Highgate, North London. It has an excellent reputation and track record in delivering high quality skills training and work experience opportunities to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. It was rated ‘Good’ in its mosrt recent Ofsted inspection.   

The successful candidate will have experience of working with learners with special educational needs and or disabilities, have excellent horticultural skills and experience, hold a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe), and be highly motivated to provide an outstanding service to our learners. Candidates will contribute effectively to the successful learning experience of learners through high quality teaching and a supportive approach that results in high levels of learner achievement, retention and progression. This post involves working closely with young people and vulnerable adults therefore appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Barred List checks.
