Salary: £31,152-£38,076 inc. LW

We require a Learning Support and Functional Skills Manager to manage, develop and deliver learning support, English, maths and ICT (Functional Skills) provision for people with learning difficulties/disabilities.

Working as part of the management team and a natural communicator, you will ensure the charity is providing high quality learning support and Functional Skills training that enables the learners to achieve the learning aims and develop their employability, living and personal social skills.

Contributing to programme delivery which will include some direct Functional Skills teaching and pastoral support, and leading on learning support, you will manage a team of tutors, support staff and volunteers to ensure we are striving towards continuous improvement.

With full teaching qualification (DTLLS or PGCE level), experience of teaching English and/or maths and excellent experience of managing learning programmes and qualifications, you’ll show an ability to lead, plan and develop Harington’s Functional Skills and learning support provision.

A sound understanding of current SEN practice/legislation is essential, as is a commitment to equality and diversity and safeguarding the well-being of children and vulnerable adults and meeting best practice standards.

Candidates should have an extensive track record of successfully teaching and managing,   with experience of working with people with disabilities/learning difficulties, excellent communication and report writing skills and experience of external inspection.
