We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Job coach to join the Recruitment and Progression Team. You will work with young people with a learning difficulty/disability to help them discover their ideal working environment and then go on to source a suitable placement in the workplace. The Job Coach will support the learner in the workplace and deliver coaching that is tailor-made to the individual’s needs, while maintaining their dignity and self-respect. You will work closely with the employer and co-workers to maintain the quality of the placement, completing regular reviews and tracking the learner’s progress.
The Harington Scheme is a small charity based in Highgate, North London. It has an excellent reputation and track record in delivering high quality skills training and work experience opportunities to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. It was rated ‘Good’ in its June 2017 Ofsted inspection.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting people with learning difficulties/disabilities in the workplace and experience of working with people with learning difficulties. They will have excellent communication and networking skills and be experienced at working with employers to source, develop and monitor placements. Candidates will have good planning administrative and organisation skills, including use of IT Microsoft Office packages Outlook and Word.
This post involves working closely with young people and vulnerable adults therefore appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Barred List checks.
